After a delightful breakfast at our hotel, you'll have the opportunity to attend English Mass at St. James Church, followed by a guided tour of the St. James area, including the Risen Christ statue and the Chapel of St. Sharbel, led by one of the best guides, Brankica.

Brankica, whose great-grandmother hailed from Medjugorje, grew up just five miles from this sacred town. With deep personal connections to the area, she will share Medjugorje's rich history and profound spiritual significance.

Later, you will have the chance to join the local community and fellow pilgrims in the daily evening prayer program at St. James, which includes confession and the rosary.

The morning will start with breakfast then English Mass at St. James and free time.

In the afternoon, Brankica will guide us up Apparition Hill, the site of Our Lady’s first appearance, where we will pray the rosary together. Those who prefer not to climb may remain at the Blue Cross, a site where Mary appeared many times.

Later in the afternoon, we will return to town, where you can take part in the evening prayer program at St. James, which includes confession, the rosary, and Adoration. Afterward, enjoy another wonderful dinner at our hotel.

Medjugorje
The morning will start with breakfast then English Mass at St. James and free time.

After lunch, we will depart for Cross Mountain., Mount Krizevac.

The Cross on Mt. Krizevac overlooks the village of Medjugorje. It was revealed to be a part of God’s plan for Medjugorje and for the world. Our Lady said on November 3, 1981, that She prays there often.
“I am often at Krizevac, at the foot of the cross, to pray there.”
Krizevac” means “Mount of the Cross.” It is the highest mountain in the area. In 1933, the parish of St. James erected a large concrete cross to commemorate the 1900th Anniversary of Jesus’ passion and death on the Cross. During construction of the 16 ton cross, the parishioners carried up all of the materials, cement, sand, water, tools, etc., in memory of Christ’s way of the Cross.

Later in the afternoon, we will return to town, where you can take part in the evening prayer program at St. James, which includes confession, the rosary, and veneration of the Holy Cross. Afterward, enjoy another wonderful dinner at our hotel.

Medjugorje-Dubrovnik-Badija
After breakfast, our pilgrimage continues along the Dalmatian Coast towards Dubrovnik. We will explore the ancient town with a Catholic guide, followed by free time to stroll the beautiful marble streets and enjoy lunch.

Dubrovnik, known as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic', is situated on the Dalmatian coast and became an important Mediterranean sea power from the 13th century onwards. Although severely damaged by an earthquake in 1667, Dubrovnik managed to preserve its beautiful Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces and fountains.

In the afternoon, we will board a high speed catamaran to the Island of Korčula, where we will transfer to a private taxi to reach our final destination, the Island of Badija.

The Island of Badija, located in the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Croatia, is a serene and picturesque destination known for its lush pine forests, charming pebble beaches, and the historic 15th-century Franciscan monastery at its heart - your home for 6 nights. The monastery is a perfect place for a retreat. Badija's clear turquoise waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling, while its walking trails offer leisurely strolls amidst nature. The island is also home to friendly deer, adding to its unique charm. At night, the only inhabitants are those staying at the monastery, enhancing the island's tranquil and secluded atmosphere, making it an ideal retreat for pilgrims.

Our meals will be sourced from the monastery's garden, featuring fresh, locally grown produce. Additionally, local meats and cheeses will be served, complemented by local wine at all meals.

Designing an Inside the Vatican pilgrimage begins with a theme or a particular country; then we weave in encounters with real people who live and work there, as well as those with expert knowledge in its historical and spiritual perspectives. Every detail has been arranged to create a unique experience; an authentic spiritual journey for each pilgrim.

I enjoyed this retreat immensely. Fr. Cassian was his usual devout, wise and kind self. It is a joy to spend time with him. The other retreatants were also excellent company--informed, enthusiastic and an inspiration to learning and praying more. Bob and Debbie were gracious hosts, anticipating our needs and wants while sharing their vast experience of being "Inside the Vatican." All in all, it was a special and memorable experience!

The trip was tremendous! I was deeply edified by the others who joined me on the pilgrimage. The venue (International Schoenstatt Center in Wisconsin) provided accommodations that met our needs. Access to the Marian Shrine of the Mother Thrice Admirable was a grace for which I will always be grateful! The conferences offered by Fr. Cassian and Dr. Robert Moynihan were rich in content and thought provoking. Debra likewise added great conversations and hospitality!

We were so blessed to be part of the Medjugorje and Croatia Pilgrimage & Retreat this past August 2025. Having Fr. Ronald Mercado made this pilgrimage trip so worth while. We are very grateful for his pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and our daily mass/prayers. He was always accessible to answer any questions that we had throughout the trip. On the first day while on the bus, in addition to the daily rosary, we were sealed & protected with deliverance prayers. This was reassuring and we felt safe throughout the journey which involved riding a bus and extended boat ride. At Medjugorje, highlights of our trip included a visit with one of the seers to hear her message, and an evening with the Papal Nuncio.. Medjugorge was followed by our retreat to the Island of Badija. The accommodations at the Monastery on the Island of Badija was comfortable with modern facilities. The best part involved the staff who displayed wonderful hospitality and prepared delicious meals. There was ample time for prayer & reflection, while exploring the island which is isolated but felt safe. We appreciate the kind assistance of Diana who kept us on track with various activities. Thank you Debbie once again for your supportive leadership, care, & understanding. This Pilgrimage/Retreat was an incredible experience for us.

This trip was truly one of a kind—an experience that overwhelmed the senses in the best possible way. We had the privilege of exploring some of the most beautiful places in Europe, while also being deeply nourished spiritually. I feel incredibly blessed to have taken part in this extraordinary retreat alongside Fr. Blount and Dr. Christine Mugridge. They ministered to us with such love, patience, and remarkable generosity. We can only thank God for the charisms He bestows on the Church through His faithful servants. The expert team from Inside the Vatican was simply outstanding. Everything was organized so thoughtfully, and the entire journey unfolded seamlessly. Special thanks to Deborah, Robert, and Dian for guiding us with such grace. This retreat was truly a spiritual feast for all of us pilgrims. Many of us arrived seeking answers, healing, or a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit—and I believe we each received more than we could have imagined. The staff at the Magnificat Center in Medjugorje and the monastery on the island of Badija were exceptionally kind and gracious. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. I’ll always be grateful for the balance of prayer, reflection, and just the right amount of free time for rest or sightseeing. Staying at the Magnificat Center was a joy—the accommodations were excellent, and the atmosphere was peaceful and inspiring. One of the most moving experiences was meeting the visionary Marija and attending one of her apparitions. Participating in Mass at St. James’s Church was another profound highlight. I will never forget the sacred time spent in Medjugorje and on the beautiful island of Badija. The warmth and attentiveness of the staff, the deep spiritual encounters, and the fellowship we shared have left an indelible mark on my heart.

I just returned from the amazing pilgrimage in Italy! It truly was a “Journey Toward the Face of Christ” in the heart of Italy! Whether visiting the sacred sites in Assisi; Lanciano and the Eucharistic Miracle; the Holy Face relic in Manoppello; or in an outdoor procession with the Benedictine Monks in Norcia; or in the face of Pope Leo XIV at Mass and in the Vatican Gardens, I kept saying to myself “it doesn’t get better than this!” Dr Moynihan, Deb and Brankica planned for and provided every opportunity for us to experience the best! We were blest with their knowledge and kindness. We had plenty of opportunity to pray. The accommodations were very comfortable, the food delicious, and the fellowship flowed! I am already looking forward to my next pilgrimage with them! Thank you for sharing your gifts and God bless you!

This was a most holy pilgrimage, I can’t even believe all the sacred things we experienced and touched, not to mention the places and saints we encountered. God blessed our travels the whole time. I’m still in awe as I look back and think to myself, “Oh yeah, we did that too, and how special was that!” For my husband and myself it was the trip of a lifetime, and it will never be forgotten. The trip was great! The Vatican Pilgrimages staff that accompanied us were great! Thank you Deborah Tomlinson! You are so professional and kind. There was any need that a person had that you couldn't help with. The accommodations were great, remembering this was a pilgrimage and not a vacation. We stayed at 2 different locations and the rooms were very comfortable and the food was excellent. Plenty of time for attending Mass and Talks, yet time for reflexing alone or with new found prayer friends. Just a few days into the pilgrimage, everyone became friends. So many "like minded" prayerful people. It was suggested we get to our meeting site a day or two earlier so we could get acclimated to the time change, and that worked out great! Julie and I spent 2 days in Split see the sites and just relaxing together. The guide were had was extremely knowledgeable. Plus, we can be proud that we have contributed to the restoration of the Franciscan Monastery! Transportation must be mentioned also, it was great!
